Hi folks, this is my first post so I hope I am in the correct section!
I drive a Dobolo which I have had for about 6 years and I love it. My wife drives a new Panda which she loves too. However I have problem as when I drive her car the head rest is very very uncomfortable. Even when it is raised to its top position the top only reaches to the back of my head not only forcing it forward but I am sure that a rear shunt would cause my head some damage. I have tried lifting it above the upper setting and can rest my head as it should be but as soon as I move the headrest drops back down again as there is no fitting at this height.
I have tried using the central rear seat headrest from my Dobolo and this proves to be comfortable just slid into to seat holes but the rods are much thinner on the Dobolo rest so I am not sure of the safety it supplies,
I wish I wasn't so tall!
Any suggestions please?

It is not a head rest, it is a head restraint.
It is not for leaning your head against while driving. It is only to prevent your head bending over the back of the seat in a rear shunt.
Ideally top of restraint should be adjusted to just below top of your head, or at its top setting if that is the closest you can get. Above the top setting is likely to come adrift in a shunt, so not saving you.

It worries me that you have been driving round for 6 years and you think the head restraint is for resting your head while driving!

Perhaps I did not express myself very well but I have been driving around for some 45 years not 6 and realise that the head restraint is for safety not comfort. As the thing will not come up high enough and the top of the sculptured rest fits so tightly just above my spine/head junction forcing me to drive with my head unnaturally forward I would like to obtain not only safety but also a comfortable driving position

Still don't understand why you have a problem with the headrest? I'm 6ft and it fits fine and my wife is 5 1/2 ft and again no problem. The headrest should come up to the back of the head/ top of the neck about in line with the ears, and close to the head.

Agreed.

OP is the issue that it won't come up high enough
