Technical Headlight problem

Hi all,

I have a problem with my headlights, in the fact that they don't seem to be working. Sidelights work fine, but when I switch to dipped headlights there is no change and still looks like just my sidelights are switched on. When the stalk is switched to dipped lights the blue coloured symbol for the main beam comes up on the dashboard as well (I take it this is an obvious indicator that something isn't right).

One thing I have noticed however, is that parts of the housing for the connector plugs are melted slightly and have gone a bit crumbly. Also, dipped lights do come on if I wiggle the connector plugs around a bit, but this doesn't last long if I go for a drive since any bump just knocks them straight off again.

Any ideas?

sounds like you already found the problem to me.. dodgy wiring.

Agree. You can replace the connector casing. It is fiddly but doable. If not your looking at a new wiring loom.
