Have any of you guys had to work on this switch? its got to be under the handbrake lever question as I have a very bad back at the moment can it be accessed from inside car or is it only from the underside.

On a lighter note got another of my 4x4's through its test needed some welding and alot of cylinder head TLC but is running well started first go having been stood her down for three years:worship: my black 900cc is next panda to be worked on up to MOT standard(y)

It may not be related to your query but the warning light comes on with low fluid level as well. I thought my handbrake sw was faulty once but it was the sw on the master cylinder reservoir that was making the light come on...
Good news on the MOT btw (y)

:confused:eh. hand brake uses a cable so how does the master cylinder affect it?

It doesn't. It just uses the same light as Mick says.

:yeahthat:

Some models also have the disc pad wear warning contacts too that probably operate the same light (I seem to remember having an Uno fitted with these..?)

Yep, but not on any of the mk1/2 Panda's unfortunatly / or fortunatly depending upon how you look at it :p

mine stopped working, but managed to fix it by a quick vac and some wd40 sprayed on it

seemed to shift all the discarded kids food that had messed it up

Found and sorted the handbrake switch the lever was missing the button last person to own the car must have been built like an ox and bent is over when using the handbrack. Got it back so it now hits the switch every time so thanks to you Richard and others went on to fit two radios in two pandas sunday morning(y)
