General handbrake issues!

hello everyone if anyone could advise me on this i would be much obliged. i heard that a fully working handbrake could be held up 3 clicks and it should hold well i pull my one up 8 clicks and it just about holds it up. would anything need tightening??

is the handbreak a common fault in the cinqs? Mine is always needing tightning and unless pulled up so high will not hold car?

Yeah my handbrake is rubbish!! Fiat found a fault with it whilst replacing my Fuel Tank.. so they said they'd fix my handbrake for me.. Big mistake letting them as they charged me loads.. and had only "tightened" it! Although i didn't find this out until Adz kindly replaced my rear hub for me and noticed this!!

yea my handbrake is really tempremental, depending on the tilt of the car it decides wen it wants to work, sum days i ahve clicks overs i dont. is there any way to adjust this?

The only adjustment of the handbrake is by the adjuster bolt underneath the car just in front of the fuel tank. If this doesn't do anything useful, then either the actuating elbows have seized, the handbrake cable is buggered or the brake shoes are worn out. Probably in that order.

Handbreak was the 1st job i had to do on my Sei it was like it did not have one so it was new shoes adjust the cable then was all ok.
