Has anybody ever heard of the following: I have a JTD 115 53 plate, of which i have owned just 2 months. i asked kwik fit to have a look at my back wheels as the handbrake was playing up they found a cable tie around the hand brake cable to keep it in position. if i take the tie off i have no handbrake.

Yes I've had this with my disc brake model. If we didn't move the cable to a certain position it wouldn't operate the handbrake properly. We did the same thing and cable tied it.

There was also a recall on multiplas to stop the cable touching the rear tyre - I believe this was the official FIAT 'fix'

I've had a pair of ' cable ties ' on the handbrick ' on my 10 year old for over a year, and it sailed through the last test with them in situ. In my case it was only to stop it rubbing [ put on temporary, and for got to sort it properly ] on the rear wheel.

Taking a car to KwikFit is like taking a computer to PCWorld, they'll have your eyes out [ like all commission wage based systems ] and they haven't got a clue.
