Hi, all, in the Axolotyl world f FIAT! My (almost) trusted 01 1.9 JTD has just snapped a handbrake cable. On examining it I found the bracket holding the yolk has completely rotted, the last pull sheered it off. There is so little on the net about parts. Anyone know? Eurocraparts are not searchable enough. It may be a scrap deal (anyone got one please?). I've wd40ed it to help remove it from the undercarriage. I'll ask Gonnella Bros on Saturday but they might charge me an arm and a leg for replacing it. I'm only keeping Rosie (RO51 FSG) till October ULEZ kicks in in most of Lewisham where I live (SE13 7JJ) so is only worth so much, although is certainly a runner (with a few big goes). Anyone interested in buying it before October? I'd hate to see it scrapped and we do not qualify for any London ULEZ scrappage deal. It is coming up for 218k miles and I bought it in March 2017 (208k) to clear out my parental home and it has been useful shifting big things since (hence two front seats taken out for 185cm larder fridge to tip recently). We also have a baby 09 Panda from the last scrappage deal, hence the low mileage for us (40k on Panda). We might sell that too, works fine but bodywork at front issues as people reversed into us in supermarket car parks and drove off! I'll post that separately.

I do like that colour.

The bracket is no longer available new from fiat.

Try and find a used one- wishing you luck.

The four retaining bolts can be a right pain.

Oil the top of the threads several times and days before patiently working then back and forth to free them off while unscrewing.

The top of the outer two can be oiled after removing the plastic trim strip on the floor parallel to the rear passenger door.

Hi, I just found out the MOT expires today (lost track in these weird times and I have a panda too, mot in October, so confused)! I'm putting it on classified just in case. I'll probably take it back to Gonnella Bros on Tuesday who sold it to me 4 years ago and do the servicing and MOTs. They might take it back for spares for other clients and maybe a few reductions for my panda's future works.

I already sprayed the bolts with wd40 and maybe neat cyclohexane (my dad was a research chemist). Yes nice colour Combo, thanks. Thanks for the tips too but I think (given MOT expires TODAY, see other reply) I have to wave goodbye to Rosie!

Thanks, all! I managed to extract the bracket thing using cyclohexanone latterly and wd40 originally. The two inner bolts were pics and Went on unwinding stiffly forever! I sheered one of them but the thing is off. I could not find the access via the inner plastic strip mentioned although the inner bracket bolts were freestanding in effect so needed squirting from above. Thanks for all your help. I’m taking ROSI to Gonnella Bros tomorrow/Tuesday to see what they say. They might even have a spare or one on a breaker. Thanks again!!

Mike,
There's a guy posted in this section, (few posts below this one, (Jockmr2) who is advertising large stock of new/genuine old stock for multiplas.
https://www.fiatforum.com/sale-want...ld-stock-fiat-multip-fiat-multipla-parts.html
Check him out, I have messaged him, and he is currently going through masses of stuff, and finding all sorts of bits as he does so. I have asked for a couple of items, and he has promised to let me know if he finds any of them. Surely worth a punt to see what he has??

How did you get on with this ? Have they much stock of bits ?

Need to take care of this part.

I will be cleaning this "dish" shaped thing carefully and emptying and keeping an eye on it in future. The drain hole can block making a pond !
Just took handfuls of crud out of it.

Front mud flaps going on and I will make a cover for handbrake cable going forward, I had forgotten how these are so exposed.

Hi
I have one I removed from my son's Multipla in case I needed it for mine! I cleaned it up and painted it with Hammerite. It would certainly get through the MOT. £25 incl p&p
You can have first option for a week.

SillyBilly - do you still have the bracket holding the yolk for the handbrake cables? If so I would be interested in buying.
