ok when i put the arm pit tickler on i mean hand brake on... i get this really bad noise.....from the rear drums..... i dont think the hand brake it biting enough.... is there away to stop the hand brake coming up so far so tightening the cable so i can see if its the cable or the read pad gone

Lift the rear of the car and chock the front wheels, Take your drum apart and see if your pads are still whole and not broken in pieces, this can happen when you start to move with the drums being frozen. Hence they rip the pads off there fixtures. If ok and with car still up follow these steps.

Check to see with handbrake down the wheels turn smoothly.

Pull handbrake up and check to see if they catch on the second and third click. If not proceed with adjustment below.

If you wanna adjust the handbrake lever, then remove the gaitor from the handbrake for access to the adjuster nut. The gaitor clips into a collar/groove at the base of the handbrake grip, and has a lip around its base which clips into the the hole in the centre console. Release the gaitor, and lift it over the handbrake.

Adjust the nut at the base of the lever as required, until the operation of the handbrake is satisfactory.

Check by turning your wheels again with handbrake on and off and if satisfied put all back together.

Job Done.
