Well after being lead to believe that I'd be picking up my new car today it doesn't look like I will be :( You see it was meant to arrive on Thursday, but it didn't. Then it was suppose to arrive yesterday, but yet again, there was no car for Rachel. So now I'm hoping that it will come today...But I'm not holding out much hope... :(
I've been good waiting for nearly 11 weeks. To rub salt in the wound I got the finance papers, and the V5 form in the post, and sorted out the insurance last night.

Sorry for the self indulgent thread, but I WANT MY CAR!

Yes, warranty starts from date of first registration. Your MOT will be due within the three years stated as this starts from the date of registration also.

Seems like the dealer has registered the car to suit himself (hit target, get sales bonus triggered by new registrations) at your expense.

Sadly, I'm not surprised!

So, has anybody has this problem before? And what have they done about it? Any suggestions? Sorry for the questions but I was really looking forward to picking Her up, and now I'm loosing out on like 2 weeks of warrenty and tax and grrrrrrrrg!
What shall I do?

You wouldn't get it today as it would need PDI'd / cleaned etc...but hope it turns up soon for you:)

And the garage have a very quick turnaround time, they said that they could get Her ready for me the same day.

Ohhh one other thing, where is the thread that tells you what to look for when you pick the car up? I'm sure there are a few of them knocking around but I don't know what to look for.

Yes I would also like to investigate what to look out for when going to pick up your car. Alot of people are just dazzled by what they see, get the keys and drive away..............

What do we look for??

Possibly yes but if it needs any parts / recalls then it wont be ready.

Just ask for copy of the PDI sheet, this proves all the work required was done & this is signed by the service manager so if something is wrong he (service manager) gets it in the balls:)

cant say i would be too peeved to lose 10 days worth of warranty.
It will have been done to hit his monthly target for sure, however a courtesy call or something written on the sale agreement would normally state they were going to do it.

dont worry, end of the day your new car is there and awaiting your bum in the driving seat! (y)

Well for anybody who is following/interested I'll be picking up Isabelle on wednesday evening! I cannot wait! I'll be taking all of your advice on board and making sure everything is in check. Only 2 more sleeps left :D

Great news :) enjoy ! ...look forward t seeing her soon ;)

Rachelle.

I don't know what colour your interior is, but check it is clean when you pick your car up. I have a white 500, with white gearknob, steering wheel and trim. There was oil everywhere!

I pointed as much as possible out when I collected the car, wrote a 2 page snag list and had it cleaned the following day!

Despite my pessimistic views, I hope you love your 500. My wife has stolen mine. I'm stuck with the beemer!
