Grrrrrr tree sap

Hello all,

Clayed the motor on Saturday polished and applied sealant all felt nice, returned an hour or two later and covered in tree sap....How long do trees weep sap for will it be all summer?

It's not the tree. It's honey dew from aphids drinking the tree sap. And they'll be at it all summer. Sap being mostly sugar and water, the aphids have to drink a lot to get all the other nutrients they need. All the excess sugar just passes straight through.. ..

If you can't avoid parking under trees, the only solution is a car cover.

You need several million ladybirds to eat the aphids. However, ladybirds can be a little difficult to train and are quite unpredictable. I think PickleGP's tree avoidance/car cover advice would be best

if the sealant was applied correctly, the sap should just rinse/wash off with ease

However it is annoying, hence why you should clay atleast 2ice a year
Once for summer sap
Once for winter crap
