When the engine warms up on my bravo the clutch starts making a grinding noise right before the pedal hits the floor, and then again right after its released. its just one spot, id say about 0.5cm of the pedal movement.
Does that mean my clutch is about to go ? Or is it the fluid or gearbox oil possibly ?

cheers

Sounds more like a bearing problem of some kind possibly the thrust bearing in the clutch had a few cars over the years with that symptom

new clutch is the only way i am afraid. I will stress this is the only cause that i know of that would make the sound you describe, but it may be that others have a different explanation for this sound. And there are others on here that know a lot more than me

I would go with bearing, but it should make the noise even when fully depressed.

Take it into a garage. They might say you need a new clutch or maybe able to just change the bearing. Thats assuming it is the bearing.

It feels like its engaging properly? No problems changing gear?

It sounds like the thrust bearing or the pressure plate springs. In any case the gearbox has to come off, false economy just renewing 1 part. renew the complete clutch.(3 parts)

The clutch is engaging properly there are no problems changing gears. basically its just an annoying feeling when pressing it when the car is stopped. When im driving i dont feel it as much...it looks like it might just be doing that when the car is stopped (eg street lights). Not really sure what is it and what to do..

Thing is im planning on taking the baby and driving it back home, to swiss next month. Should i get a new clutch beforehand ?

cheers

I would get it done just in case if your gonna drive that far in it. It does sound like the thrust bearing is on its way out so like the above replace the lot, saves time and expense later on.
