Hello one and all..

I have a 2007 Grande Punto 1.9 diesel sporting with the engine management light on, car runs perfect no funny hickups etc although the fuel consumption has gone fairly bad. I have had it plugged in which came back being fault code P0111 and P0101 which indicates that the air flow metre is at fault (lack of voltage supplied). I have had another air flow metre from a breakers and still the fault is still coming up on the diagnostics, I must point out that the 4 pin plug was plugged in back to front which I have only just discovered as I have only had the car a week, plugging it in the right way I really thought that was going to cure the problem, diagnostics still says there is a fault. Being plugged in the wrong way would this have caused it to blow both MAF sensors?? Or is there something else I am over looking?

All help and advise would be much appreciated

Marcus

Kudo's, The connector should only fit one way (the right way) so I doubt that could be the cause however if it was forced there's change getting the pins the wrong way has killed it.

Trouble is you don't know the history from that part so that could be just as knackered.

Only way would be to buy a new part (eBay has genuine stuff a lot cheaper than retail) or find someone nearby with a known working one to try out.

Thanks for the reply.

The plug does go in the other way but does not clip down firmly as the catch is on the wrong side. The female end of the metal clip connectors inside the plug have seen better days. I think I will have to get hold of another plug and solder it onto my loom and buy another MAF sensor. If that doesn't fix it, I don't know what will. Would this been plugged in the wrong way have caused any damage to the ecu/relays/fuses??

Cheers
