Technical Grage says I need new engine head - advice needed

Hi Multipla owners!

I won't double post the whole thing but if you could have a quick look at my question in the tech-talk section I would appreciate the help:

The garage reckons it is nothing to do with their previous work and that I need a new engine head . Any views?

S/H engine (with all ancillaries), new cambelt kit and a new garage, realistically you don't want either the existing engine or the garage.
Engine swap is DIYable and just pay a garage/mobile mechanic to change the belt.

If you're not comfortable doing the engine swap, then shop around for a price from a garage/mechanic, however budget around £300+ for an engine plus the cambelt kit plus labour. This will still be cheaper than going the £1200 you've been quoted.
Make sure you get a warranty on the engine, most reputable places will give you a limited time warranty which will cover you in the event of a problem post fitting.
