Ok, got the cinq's interior pretty much stripped out, and heres a list of this weeks jobs;
1. strip most of the paint out of the boot of the car to expose the rust, (found 3 holes today, I'm sure there are more under the sound-proofing,)
2. Remove the excess seam sealent and start patching up the holes. Will also stitch weld certain areas as there is a little surface rust,
3. Remove rear wheels (will also be painting all of the wheels, haven't decided what colour, either plain satin black or white? Ideas anyone?) and patch the holes that are in awkward places. Will also have to run a weld up the sills as one looks really ropey,
4. Prime and paint the interior. I'm Hoping I wont have to take the headliner out, and that I can keep the re-spray to a minimum,
5. Get a couple of repair panels cut from a doner car in the scrappy, then weld up the dodgy bonnet and the valance under the windscreen. This will then need respraying, and I'll underseal the repairs I've done to the underside of the car,
6. Replace all the gaskets relating to the throttle body, and replace the fan switch, may buy a new expansion tank from the scrappy as ours looks sh*te,
7. Replace interior and rear windows. rub the bootlid down and spray that as well as it has a few rusty patches.
The car should then look as good as new. Don't know if we are selling it yet, Em's mum wants it gone, and Em wants to keep it. I'm hoping the repairs should'nt be too expensive, I have a budget of around £150, and I will only need about £50 worth of parts/panels/sheet steel and paint as I have the welder, compressor etc.
Will Keep you all posted from now on, hopefully with plenty of pics.
