Back again...

Managed to start van and drive ot on a 30 mile round trip, gave it a wash parked it up. I then went to go out again and it started but sounded rough and lots of white smoke coming from the exhaust, it would not rev above 1000 rpm, now it wont start at all.

The previous problem was to do with the immobiliser, now i turn the ignition key and the Key sign illuminates for 2-3 seconds and goes out is that right?

I have a multimeter but haven't a clue what setting it should be on or what reading im looking for when testing the glow plugs

Can anyone help? As you can imagine im going round in circles

The van is a Ducato 2.8d 2000 (Y) Its done 21K miles and everything else seems to be fine even on the drive it was faultless

Cheers

Ben

**UPDATE**

I removed the fuel filter, and it was 1/2 full of diesel, i also noticed the thing that screws into the bottom of it was leaking (ever so small) i emptied the filter, refilled it with fresh diesel and attached it. Added some small washers to the thing that was leaking to strengthen the seal as it had lost its thread

Started on the 2nd attempt and drives fine again

Hopefully thats the teething problems out of the way and i can start enjoying it!
