Hello Guys,

I need some help to discover what's wrong with my 1.9TD Ducato.

My Dash glow plug light is always on, what it could be wrong?
I hear the relay clicking clicking but the light stay on.
What makes the light off? The relay itself or some bad glow plug can make it always on?
I have only a few days left for MOT, i'm screwed :(

Thanks you all for the help

Can't see glow plugs causing that.
Have you tried unplugging the glow plug relay, if that control unit was faulty it may be the issue.
Other than that it sounds like a bad earth or other wiring issue to me.
Over here a glow plug light on that age of vehicle would be not a fail item as no ECU control for sensors etc. in my opinion.

Hello Mike,

I have unplugged the relay and the light never turn on.
So it might be the relay that don't turn it off.
The relay have the timer builted inside?

Thanks for the help my friend.
Does sound like that relay stuck.
However it may be worth testing your heater plugs as if relay has been stuck on it may have burnt out the heater plugs as they are only meant to be on for a very short time.
What is it like starting in cold weather, do you get any white smoke/misfire/smell of diesel from exhaust until engine warm?

Lucky i did't ride it yet, so the plugs should be fine.
It's starts normal without any unusual smoke.
It should be the relay then, 60€ for a new one, i'll try that fix.
Hope it's not a bad earth, since i don't have the schematic i dunno where to find the earth problem.

Thanks my friend.

Hi,
Your 1994 Ducato 1.9TD should have Fiat 230A3000 engine, which has indirect injection. The attached diagram was extracted from the German language workshop manual that is available in the "Downloads" section, for which see the black banner at the top of the page.
