Hey,

I just need a bit of advice on removing a fiat CD player from a Bravo. Gonna fit my lovely Alpine CDA955R at the weekend but the audio guide uses the tape player as and example and involves inserteing your hand into the tape player whole!

Anyone removed one of these and is it pretty easy?

Any advice appreciated as I don't wanna break anything incase I want to sell the car on(they ain;t having my alpine!)

lol, you don't 'need' those two at all, I did mine yesterday with the knife I use to peel the potatoes, done it before with feeler guages, never 'needed' those.

Dom is it the Fiat made single slot CD player? and is it a standard feature on the higher spec models? Just where I have to work they keep breaking into cars for non standard cd players but dont seem to be touching manufacturers kit so i am on the hunt for one.

Yeah, it's the standard fiat single slot one, think it must have been an option or it may be because it's the formula edition. As for the use of 'stock' I must apologise, I hate americans and usually slaughter people for saying things like dude.

So, to get out the 'factory fitted' CD player I can use a potato peeler and some u shaped metal then....?

Not a potato peeler, I used the knife I use as potatoe peeler. It was just a little knife about 4 inches long but it has a very thin blade.

I think the guide might say feeler guages if you have any, just pop a small screwdriver in the edge of the stereo to pull it forward a little as you slide the feeler guages/knife in the side.

Dom

what are you doing with the standard cd player once its out?

Greg,

Dunno yet mate, haven't really thought about it to be honest. Was gonna keep it for in case I sell the car but you seem pretty desperate for one. How much are you looking to pay?

Dom i emailed you days ago when you posted the original post to email...

Adam, I've sent you an e-mail. Sorry Greg, if I do sell Adam has first refusal as, like he said, he e-mailed me days ago but I don't check my e-mails enough!

Just a quick question, the Black and white ISO plugs fit nicely into my Alpine but there is no space for the strange green plug that looks like 2 small plugs stuck together. Does anyone know what this is for?

Oh, and the Text display on my Alpine is now yellow(it used to be white). ANyone know hat might be causing this??

Cheers

Dom
