Ive currently got a JVC deck in my punto, and I have to get it out to run wires from it to the boot for amp etc, but for the life of me I can't get it out, Ive tried 2 knives down either side but it only comes out a few mm then wont budge, is there a secret to it?

It would need JVC's standard removal tools.

will they do that?

slight problem with that though, the car isn't road taxed, because It's not going on the road till I pass, so I can't take it down to a Halfords  and I don't wanna wait till I'm driving 'cause I wanna have the car done in time so i can just get out on the road, anyother options?

Ive got a full set of the unclipping keys now. lol. The easiest way to get it out without them on JVC's is to put 2 VERY long thin screw drivers in the holes. Push them to the back till they stop, then push them a bit harder. You may well hear a little click if not wiggle it from side to side. When youve done it with one side, pull it out about 10mm and put something behind the face plate to stop it going back in. Now do the same with the other side and voila. It does work, ive done it. lol Alternatively, just get a key its easier. The JVC ones are a 5mm wide piece of metal with a bulge at one end for unclipping. (y)

Me and a mate went at it earlier and got it out, the whole silver bit of plastic had to come off though from the punto's central dash, and I broke a few bits of plastic  but hopefully itll be fine, so It's out, onto installing amp etc...

Ive noticed, its got 2 pre outs where normal phono things can be plugged in, so I take it I plug the amp into there, how do I wire up the remot cable etc though? and it doesnt seem to have anymore outputs, so how can I wire up my 6x9's

The amp connects to the RCA outputs of the headunit. The remote wire should be on a seperate lead coming out of the headunit. Either that or use a power source that only comes on when the head unit is on. You can use a continuos power feed (but you'll need to put a switch on it so you can turn the amp on/off manually).

As for the 6x9s, im not sure how you want to connect them up  Did you want to run them off the HU or another amp?
