Hi
i recently purchased 2012 500c - so far so good - lot of fun to drive

did just notice the generic warning light was on - so followed up on forum explaining a simple technique to resolve as it might be oil change time. steps: key in ignition (car not running) , few slow pumps of gas pedal and shut off remove key - at next re-start should be off -

so i've done few times no luck - should i assume it's one of the other potential issues listed in the manual? any similiar experiences

thanks in advance

Welcome! (Although I must apologize for no-one answering your question sooner....) (y)

I'd be tempted to get any error codes read. It's probably something very minor on a car of that age; but it's best to know.... You can either get a dealer to do this (although it will probably cost you an inordinate amount in labour); a good garage with the correct equipment; or buy yourself a handheld OBD (on-board diagnostic) code-reader suitable for the 500; or go the whole hog, and buy multiecuscan and a set of cables to connect to the OBD port in your car.

If this all sounds like gibberish, please feel free to ask for clarification. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers...! :)
