The head turning Panda.
Yes, it might need tidying but it still looks good.![]()
Yep. Could be the camshaft oil seal, but more likely is the cam cover. Where the rubber gasket goes over the cam bearing caps there should be a dab of silicone sealer in the corners, if this hasn't been done it will leak.
Does the steering wheel have an airbag or is just hideous design?
That's the Rover V8 conversion that featured in Retro cars a few years back, fairly radical setup, V8 with rear drive 'box sits so far back that the bulkhead's all moved and the driver sits more or less where the back seat was, needed electric windows as you couldn't reach the winders from the new driving position iirc. Virtually nothing of the Panda running gear left, front and rear suspension's all grafted in from old Fords I think. Haven't seen my copy of the mag recently, sure it's in my collection somewhere.![]()
Any info on this?
Found it.. OK, Rover V8 and auto box housed in the transmission tunnel cut out of a Rover P6 donor and welded back into the Panda floor. Cortina mkv front suspension and Capri rear with Capri diff, and matching brakes each end. Modified mkII Escort forest arches. Home made roll cage, 9x13 Cobra superslots rear and 6x13 wolfrace slots at the front. All home built by a lunatic with a welding fetish!!
ref. Retro cars mag Oct'05 - also featuring a tuning guide for the fire engine. Enjoyed that months issue![]()
