Technical Gearstick feels all loose

Hi everyone

need some help here, my 89 x1/9 has a soupy gearstick, it is not easy to find 1st, 2nd, and i cant find reverse at all, 3rd and 4th is there, but it just feels like the stick is loose and not moving properly? would it be the linkage?

All sorted, was a very loose bolt, fixed with a new one and all the gears returned like magic!
