Technical Gearbox swap

I am assuming that I can swop a bottom loader gearbox from a 70sx into my
88 Uno 60s with a top loader gearbox.

I am imagining it is the same clutch set up etc. The donor car has had a small fire in the carburettor, the plastic bits under the engine bonnet/hood are melted but the rest is OK.

I'm guessing it should be possible
I'm assuming they both have a cable operated clutch?

If not you'll be swapping over the pedal box as well
to change the method of clutch operation

You may find you need to swap over part of the exhaust as well
Cos the bottom change box you are swapping in
may foul the existing exhaust that may be sitting tighter to the underside your current top change box
