Technical Gearbox six-speed with engine UT , Possible or not ?

I wish swap an engine Ut in my cinqué but I have already a six speed gearbox and I don't want to loose it

Possible, (has been done) but crazy. Lots of fabrication needed. Don't know about your gearbox.

Big problem is that the engine is too heavy. The 1.4 16v Super Fire is a better bet (and now available in turbo form).

It will not bolt straight on. You MAY be able to adapt it too fit, but space is tight anyway, so I wouldn't bother to be honest.

Not cheap, but the serious amount of work involved in trying to make the car fit the UT engine (Not the other way around!!!) would work out worse from what I've read!!!

If you do a search you should find quite a few references on here that would give you an idea of how much is involved.

A few people have now used the far more modern & light 1368 lump successfully - follow the link on Kristian's post for details on how he did his :slayer:
