Due to a blown clutch I had to replace the gearbox on my 2007 1.4 5 speed petrol last may. I obtained a box from a breaker, it was significantly higher geared than my old box.
Now in first and to some extent second gear, there is a loud rattle coming from the box when under load and moving but not when stationery when i rev and apply the brake. Is this a bearing failure do you think and should i not drive any further or can it wait until i source and fit a better box? I know the gearboxes have a poor reputation
