Hey, I have an 02 fiat Punto 3 months now and since buying it I have had a number of problems. I have has to get the exhaust repaired, oil leak fixed, new battery and finally in the last week I had to get my gearbox replaced. Although the mechanic says he replaced the gear box it is still quite stiff changing gears, could just be in my head, but could anyone tell me can a gearbox be fiddled with or does it have to be replaced? Another problem that just came today is a squeaking noise mainly when stopping and starting the car? Could anyone help me?

Clutch may need bleeding (should have been replaced along with the gearbox).
