Tipo (Classic) gear problems

Hi all,i've been having problems with my gears on my 93 tipo...
it feels like it is not properly in 1st when it is & it jumps out of 3rd sometimes...
i've topped up the iol & the rods seem fine....
any suggestions that don't envolve scrapping it would be welcome...

Are you sure the rods are fine? 100%?

If not, check your engine mounts. I remember having a similar issue. Mechanic replaced all the mounts and the gears no longer popped out of gear.

well mr clutch was about as useful as a chocolate fire guard....back to square one

i did have the same problem when i first changed my engine and it turned out to be the rods that were not tightend up enough so they were not pushing it into gear fully. or as Trancendental says check your engine mounts.
