First time posting here but I'm at my wits end with my car.

I own a second hand Fiat Punto 05 plate, semi-auto 1.2L and recently I've been experience a strange problem with it. It's only happened twice but basically if I stop to give way the car stalls, If I restart and try either Manual or auto the car doesn't move (it just beeps at you because that's always helpful). Then it will miraculously work BUT only in manual.

I can go in a bit more detail if this helps:confused:

The first time I pulled in to let a car go (but didn't jump in reverse), the second time I stopped at a round about and the car stalled. Naturally I put the car in natural turned the car back on, put it in "gear" as I mainly drive it auto to save the gear box (ironically enough). The car said no, repeated the process but this time manually. again, Car said no. I repeated this several times before the car started jumping into reverse (but still wouldn't go anywhere).

Eventually I got some help to push the car round the corner. Checked the heat from the engine and gave it a look to see everything was in order, it was. figured I turn it on again and it worked but only in manual.

any help would be great!

Dont laugh....
But puntos are terrible auto boxes when the rear light earths go crappy....
They cause the gearbox ecu to freakout to due to voltages been seen when they shouldnt

Take both rear lights out - give the connectors a darn good clean - espicially on the black wires pin (earth)

Its a 10min cleaning job and pennies todo...
If it fixes it...
Horay!!

If not
No biggie

Its often the disco light effect that you dont see causing all the issues
