Gear Box Problems Tipo 1.4

Get this one !, Tipo 1.4 70k, has started jumping out of 1st, 3rd or 5th when going round corners!, change has also got much worse and box feels really notchy anyone had a similar problem?.

Hi,

All three gears require the gear shift to be forward. Perhaps the engine/gearbox are moving too much round the corners and pull/pushing your gear linkage. Could also explain the difficulty in changing gear too.

However if it's noisy aswell I think it might be time to bury it. No just the box!!

Yep think its more engine or gearbox mount related, a real pain though!.

Tipo g-box problem

its the small linkage on top of the steering rack thats sticking that causes it to jump out of gear its a pain to get to buried behind the engine and needs totaly striped down and greased to fix it out ...

Tipo g/box problems

Check the gearbox and engine mountings before removing the box. My 1.6 30k Tipo had all the mounting wear badly causing all sorts of minor problems

I think this is it problem only started to occur after I had front two tyres changes, gear lever also seems to hav quite a lot of movement
