Good morning dear FF:wave: ,

I would like the get some gauges in order to keep my engine under control...
The gauges I would be getting would be Water temperature, Oil pressure, Voltmeter.
Now, for the Voltmeter no probs but as far as the Oil temperature and Water temperature is concerned I have a question...
Does anyone know what diameter sensor you need for this gauges on a 899cc engine?
Where would you reccomend to put the oil sensor? Going via the oil rod or via the oil sump ?
And where exactly would you stick the water sensor into ?
As far as where to put them I eventually could take the central air vents out and place them there or get the a 3 carbonfibre gauges holder to be mounted in the middle of the dashboard...
What would you do and go for ?
Tks for your help:) ,
A.

For the temp guage here are a couple of threads with a bit of information and a few snapshots of where some members have mounted them, and also links to other posts.

It seems that these were undertaken onto either 1108 or 1242 converted seis, rather then 899 seis. If anything it will give you an idea, how different the whole process varies on an 899 i am not too sure.

However regular checking of all fluid levels can also keep the engine temps under control

I don't know if its a 1108 you have but I have both oil temp and pressure on mine and they are very easy to fit, I removed the pressure sender switch which is located behind the rad, to the left of the oil filter, you can if you want the dash warning light to remain functional put a T piece in, but I believe the gauge is a better guide anyway, you shoudl get a fitting that fits in teh pressure sender switches place.

As for oil temp, you have two M18 allen bolts next to oil filter take off, I run mine from the bottom one as my turbo feed is from the top one, but either would do, you will not be provided with a M18 in the assortment of fittings you get with you gauges, but its is available from Demon Tweeks amde by LMA, sure others must do them I just never found them http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=LMA008

Morning Guys,

Thanks a million for all your suggestions (y)
I'll get some gauges from Italy and will fit them just where the center air vents are :D ... I think the result will be great and I will post the pictures as soon as I've sorted everything out ok? :slayer:
Have a good week ;)
