Styling gas bonnet struts on panda??

has anyone fitted gas bonnet struts on there panda, im thinking about making some up from boot struts from a saloon car or something like that, but if anyone has done it, please give me a clue on where to look

Raid a scrapyard for a VW Golf or Seat Leon bonnet ram, should imagine that would work but the Golf and Leon bonnet might be a bit heavier than the Panda bonnet so watch it doesnt buckle the bonnet when it lifts

I was thinking about this the other day as the Mondeo had them. I think the big problem with stealing them from a "premium" car is that their bonnets are considerably heavier than the Panda's. Will be following this thread with interest

thats kool, im looking at some vw bora rear boot struts at the moment, there small and silver, thought they would look ok, and weight wise think only a little heavier than the panda bonnet, (i work for VW dealer, lol)
