Well, :) There is a lot about dealer `X` is bad, dealer `Y`is worse still, dealer `Z` shut down and good riddance... That sort of thing.
But has this ever been turned on its head and a dealer has dumped a customer? Dealer has said `go somewhere else` or bought the car back in frustration at the customers moaning beyond reason and refused to sell him another one?

It just occured that there may be a few customers ( as well as garages) that are not worth having ( non on here of course)

one of the lads in our are that had a golf mk 2 used to go to a local (small) garage and the owner paid the lads mates to make sure he didnt go back lol... hahaa...

then the owner let a few of us use his premesis for late night modding :p :D

Yeah but going back a few years here.A mate of mine (Ford Nut) had to have a mark 3 escort he'd allways got his new car from the same dealer for ten or so years and they treated well, but after he took it back some 38 times, when he wanted to buy another they told him they where not prepared to suppy him anymore and sent him to the nearest other ford dealer 40 miles away.

I suppose it denpends i can see the scense of a garage telling a customer where to go after being so much of a pain, even although it is normally because the car is at fault, or something done to the car is thought to be at fault.

After all i hear so many times or someone gets an MOT or a service then 3 months down the line there sunroof leaks so they take it back to the garage and tell them its there fault! Errrmmmm.... no. Ok under manufacturers warranty you would expect such things to be covered. ANd thats an extreme example.

Sometimes when chainging belts etc i guess stuff can be knocked broken etc, mechs should either report it or fix it, and if problem found after then yes sure if it is connector etc out of place, then perhaps they should fix for free.

As a customer are you really wanting to go back somewhere where they want you gone anyhow, asuming you'vre had nothing but problems with the car/garage.

Remember being in a dealer when a punter started to kick off!
Will never forget what the sales manager said to him " Why don't you get the F*CK out my showroom before I throw you out!"
Nevr got the full story but the manager was a good guy, didnt take any rubbish but usually very fair.

How do you deal with a customer like this...

"you *****rs you have scratched my alloys...that car is only 2 weeks old"
"Oh sorry sir i'll get the technician working on the car, what car & registration is it sir"
"blah blah blah"
"Heres the technician now sir" (<- me!)
"Afternoon sir how can I help you"
"you scratched my alloys I want two new ones now"
"Are you accusing me sir"
"f*cking right I am"
"so when did I scratch your alloys then sir"
"I dont know but they were ok when I left car here this morning"
"so you agree the car had to be driven for me to scratch them"
"you and your mates were no doubt racing around the streets"
"with no keys sir"
"what do you mean"
"you never left your keys when you left the car here earlier sir,we tried to call your mobile but it was switched off check the answerphone, how could I drive it,may I suggest you look in your pockets"
.....guy looks in pockets & brings out keys....turns around and walks out (he was only getting 2 wiper blades fitted under warranty) and hasn't returned since.

So how do you deal with people like that & dont think its a one off its almost a daily occurence! Is the customer always right?

T I swear that story gets funnier everytime you tell it! :D

Don't think people always realise what dealers and their staff have to put up with sometimes.

I remember one guy making a sales man get a valeter down to clean a stain on his new car. It was brand new and the stain was in the middle of the drivers seat. Normally I would go and sort something like that out but was busy with a showroom car so sent one of my guys down to have a look. By the time my guy had got down there with some detergent and stuff the punter was getting quite uppity. Turned out that the "Stain" that he was getting so angry about was the shadow of the rearview mirror! :D

 really! LOL excellent.... :D

We used to photograph a customers car (not Fiat garage) from every angle inside & out because he always found faults we 'apparently' done...funny thing was it wasn't his car but a mobility car.Just didn't have anything better to do with his time so came in with most lame excuses but in end service manager simply said "f*ck off & dont ever come back,we have other deserving customers to deal with than to wipe your arse everyday" (y)

It will get hijacked & turned around soon enough....enjoy it while you can ;)

Well , as the OP to this thread, I want it kept on track !:D It gives balance to the forum ( IMHO)

When Rag Vardy Fiat used to be on Blackbird Road in Leicester, there was a chinese lad who bought a brand new Punto. He would go into the service department with a list of about 12 faults. These included things like rev counter will take 0.2 seconds longer to get back down to idle from 2000 rpm and stiffening of gear selection between 2nd and 3rd gear in the mornings.

One day he walked in and the service manager said to him loud enough for everyone to hear:

"Just when you thought you day couldn't get any worse, in walks Mr ....."

Classic:D
