Hi all,

Im after some suggestions please.

I would have put this in our online gaming section - if only it existed.

Anywho,

Im looking for a couple of online games which are not expensive to buy, but with a couple of conditions.

The lads ill be playing against all like different game types so we want to keep it even.
i.e. A FPS game that all can enjoy without the FPS "pro" having too large an advantage.

Get what i mean? (y)

So - racing, fps, strategy, whatever. But pick up and play ones.

Suggestions please (y)

I also play, but rarely now.

Personally i think it give people with a FPS background too much of an advantage, as those less experienced will be picked off way too quickly to get any enjoyment from it.

Only 1 suggestion so far, im surprised. Seems as so many people wanted an online section an all!

well its a bit hard to suggest, as most games that make it easy for people, are to easy for people who arnt new, and most of them are childish

espesialy when it comes to FPS

but, they arnt hard to get used to :chin: i had to learn when we all started playing AA and it didnt take me that long to learn, as theres not much to it. Also people who are so called experts just know the exploits of the certain game, so setting them in a new game entirely and they will only know basic stuff

also, AA has a training mode so you learn the basics before you start (y)

saying that, for pick up and playability, you cant beat Cs Source (y)

you can just throw yourselves into it at a whim, and on some servers it will place the newer players in the better team, so it keeps it all fair

and with CS, theres not many tactics, as the maps are quite small (unlike say, BF2, which has huge maps, and your split into teams and sub teams, each with different objectives, which is still fun tho :D)

for free theres True Combat Elite which is based on the Wolfenstine Enemy Territory.

its a bit grittier than Cs Source and might take longet to learn, but you cant argue with free :p

what about an MMORPG?

thyre great games for multiplayer fun, a good one to try is a game called "Rappelz", which is just as good as WoW (as far as i can see) apart from that theres not a huge number of people on it, as its only just out. but if your ina groupe, thats no problem :p

also, the best part of reppelz is its FREE (y)

racing :chin: hmm....

well from my experience i have to say that i prefer the ToCA Race Driver series :D

if i were you id try number 2 or 3, i prefer 3 as its Grafically superior, but you should be able to get a copy of RC2 for pocket change :p

but if you want free pauly posted this ages back, and its free :D

Live for Speed.

theyve kept updateing it since we played it last, and its looks good (y) you only get the basic cars in the free demo, but for a quick bash its all you'd need :)

Battlefield Vietnam might be quite a hit.
It's old enough to run on most systems, will be cheap to buy and is amazing.

Despite the shortcomings of the 'Battlefield' series, this has proven to be a massive hit on the network here at college. While it's technically an FPS, there's tanks, booby traps and, best of all, choppers, Jets and napalm :).
It all adds up that different people can play the game in different ways.

Also, you can blast along in the Huey at 15ft off the muddy water of a river, blaring Wagner out through loudspeakers while your mates fire their M60s out of the side :)

And you can also carry underslung loads on the whirlies - like Jeeps and so forth. Imagine Apocalypse Now overall and you get a good idea of the action.
