Now the big problem is that My car will sound like it is going to start but doesnt fire up HOW CAN ALL THIS HAPPEN FROM ONE FUSE BLOWING any idea's? please thankyou and please again

Are you using the right 'guage' wires. are you using a suitable fuse (ie correct Amps) etc?

Please give detailed details of your ice setup, make model, where its wired to.

Right I have a sony head unit conected to this i have a RCA cable (£50) to my Vibe mono block amp 400 watts RMS wired in to 4 ohms to 2 jl audio wo subs. Xr jl comps in the doors wired in to my head unit (awaiting amp) All the wire are top grade **** cost me a small fortune and all the fuse's are correct

Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

Where is the amp power coming from?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

From the Battery

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

And its just blowing the head unit fuse?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

no its in the main ones where the electric windows etc are

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

Um, they are seperate fuses.

The head unit should be fuse 3 in the main box which also does the central locking (20A) but the windows are a 25A fuse in the other fuse box.

I think you've got a wiring problem somewhere. How much did you take apart to get the RCAs to the head unit?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

nothing i just ran them from the headunit to the amp - i havn't touched any existing wires

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

Strange!!!! Its always possible you did disturb something behind the dash in the process.

I can't see how it can blow the window controls though.

Which fuse number does it blow? (the numbers are in the handbook)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

the first 7.5 fuse ont the top ones u no the ones with the black covers

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've got the permentant live and switched live arse about face!

Hehe!! I can't for the life of me remember which way around they are, they are usually the yellow and red wires (look in the head unit handbook) but you are trying to run your head unit from the wrong supply.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

lol i will try it
and blow my car to little pieces

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fuse Help (I.C.E and windows)

That will sort your problems out. The head unit is supposed to run from a 20A fuse, not the 7.5A one. :)

Don't just change the fuse, the wiring won't cope. You have to swap the connections at the head unit.
