Hi everyone,

I'm having some problems understanding the fuse box icons on my Fiat Punto 55s.

I want to check if the fuses are intact but they are not transparent, can i check them by only looking at the top part of each fuse?

Can i switch fuses randomly or there's a place and type for each one?
I guess the previous owner messed things up and i want to make sure the fuses are where they should be.

Can a fuse make the radiator fan stop working? A month or so ago, i went to the mechanic and the fan was working just fine.

Thanks i advance,
Regards

They'll be rated differently. Personally, I'd go to the Portuguese equivalent of a pound shop and replace the lot for transparent ones. At least the colour coding should be the same.

There's a Haynes for the car -- you'll probably find a cheap one on eBay.

Right. I'll do that as soon as possible.

Just to check, is it possible that the radiator fan stopped working because of the fuse? (from the fusebox situated next to the handwheel, left side)

Can't remember where the fuse for the engine fan is on the Mk1 -- it may be in the engine bay.

But a blown fuse is certainly one possibility.

If you short out the connector on the switch on the radiator, the fan should come on. Usually they fail due to a fault on the earth side (they're switched on the earth side).

Is it possible for someone to take a picture of the fuse box compartment or send me the diagram so i can confirm the values of each fuse to see if they are all in the right place?

Thanks
