Technical  Fuel Pump..

The way to know for sure if it works is to disconnect the fuel hose going OUT of the pump and into the carburetor, (at the carburetor end), insert the end of the hose into an empty container, and start the engine. There is enough fuel left in the carburetor for it to run for a while.

If the pump is working fine it will pump fuel into the container. If not, it won’t…

If you want to, you can even measure the amount of fuel in the container. A general guideline for most cars is about one quart per minute at idle speed.

If your car has single point injection then the pump will be an electric one inside the fuel tank. The procedure is the same, but the hose you want is the one going from the pump to the injector turret.

Good Luck.
