Technical Fuel pump noise

Hi all,

have GP 1.2 have heard humming noise from rear of the car.

Could it be the fuel pump and should it be noticeable?

Car coming to end of 2 year warranty this month.

Might drop into Ayr Fiat tomorrow for a tech to hear it.

Any thoughts welcome.

Mine does to. They told me it was normal, but its really quite loud. Let me know how you get on.

constantly? This may be a tad obvious but it does buzz for a few seconds when you first turn the key

No not on start up, seems to be there when stationary. Not too annoying but hope to get it checked this week. Other poster has got it too.

Cant say I have and never heard of this before. My mk2 punto pump makes a rumble when fuel is low and when very low in can gve a grinding noise but this is probably because the fuel lubricates the pump/deadens(sp?) the sound.

its constantly. A high pitched whine from under the rear seats where the pumps located.

I've brought this up before, was told it was normal too.
