hi im new and could use some help.my 2004 2.0 jtd has 108,00 miles on it.since ive bought it about a year ago its always started like a bag of ****.it doesnt seem to let you start normally its very lumpy and you cant get it to rev up its smokey too and seems to have a slight missfire.after a few minutes it clears and once warm you wouldnt think theres much wrong with it.i had it checked over when motd and the fault code was pressure regulator.i was advised to left fiat check it and they came back with same regulator fault and possible missfire.the cost from fiat for the regulator is ridiculous so looked on ebay the people selling it said it usually turns out to be the pump.i have an 06 scudo too so i was wondering if the regulators could be swopped over just to help diagnose and save me from wastig money buying something i dont need? thanks.

yes, it is on the back of the high presure pump and shaped like a dumpy lollypop, cant remember exact procedure to do it but it's not rocket sience. It takes about 1 hour to do. seem to remember it wad just 2 bolts and a wireing plug on the end but it was more aukward to do than difficult. It is usualy the pump thats faulty but if you have a doner vehicle available then it's worth a try. good luck!

I think this is the same thing we have just changed? 'pressure control valve' ? If so it's only a small part, it's in a really awkward place! but if you can be a stretch armstrong it's a 10 minute job (with much swearing :p) the one on my 57 plate scudo was a bosch part which had to be ordered from Germany but arrived next day, cost me £138.

Good luck with that (y)
