fuel injection

hi guys



It,s me again and yes my palio 1.6 16v is still not starting after batteling we found out that thwe fuel cut out switch was not working so we sorted that problem out now the feul is running thru the fuel filter but is there any way we can check if the fuel is reaching the fuel injection system? when we turn the ignition switch on the fuel injection light comes on but goes of again how will i know if my fuel injection system is broken?

After turning the key to the start position, the ECU checks all the sensors etc., this takes about 2-3 seconds, when everything is OK, the light goes of.
So it seems that all is fine with your car, if it is not starting, it's not the fuel system.
You can try to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for some minutes, see if this helps.

I have tride that also car still won't start I am at my wits end I don't know where else to check any more do you have any idea maybe ?

Buy a can of start spray, and spray it in the inlet, see if the car starts, if it does ( for a few seconds) your ignition is working, and you can rule that out.

Sorry this might sound stupid but where will I find the inlet on the fuel injection system?

Spray it in front of the black aircleaner box, while somebody else is crancking.

Thanks we tried it but it still wont start we checked and I think my timing belt slipped because the car keeps on backfiring when we trie to start it how do we reset the timing on the 1.6 16v engine and how doe we change the timing belt?

Do a search on this forum, the timingbelt procedure is the same for all 1,6 16V Fiat engines, no matter what model.
