My Bravo 80 SX is reving up when idle and missing badly when driving. I thought the problem was dirt in the fuel filter. I bought a filter and tried to fit it - but where is it? Can any of you guys help

Describe revving up? It won't be the fuel filter though!

When car is stationary the engine revs up to 30000 and back down to 10000 and repeats this over and over again. The only reason I though it was the filter was I ran out of petrol a few days ago and might have sucked up dirt from the tank

I'd take it to fiat for a diagnostic, sounds like the idle valve is stuck BUT the 1.2 has a fancy integrated throttle body so you can't just take it to bits

your car is reving to 30000 jesus that must sound amaizing. not entirely dis similar to a jet taking off i imagin. (P.S. i think you mean 3000rpm)
