As we all know our Puntos are equipped with a safety sistem that cuts off the fuel in case of impact, and turns it back on if you push the button on the left of the drivers seat. I might have some problems with it. Does anyone know how the sistem works, where the sensors, sockets are, how can I cancel the whole sistem?
Thanks :)

there is a procedure for checking the function of the inertia switch, think its in the haynes manual.. Can't remember off top of my head how you do it, i'm not brilliant at electrics and have to have the manual there when doing stuff lol.

I recommend checking that it is working or not first. And then either you have eliminated that as the problem or know that it is the problem, i'd also replace it over bypassing it. I know you don't intend on crashing and bursting into flames but it could happen and you'll want the inertia switch to work at that point really haha.

Thanks guys! I couldn't find the procedure for checking if the switch works or not in the Haynes Manual. If someone can find it in the manual and point me the page, chapter or something, or tell me the procedure, it'll be awesome. If not, I guess I'll just pull the socket out and take it out for a spin to see if the simptoms persist. If they do, and the inertia switch works fine I'll move my attention to the fuel pressure regulator.
Or better, if you could tell me if there is a way to check the regulator, I'll check them both at the same time.
Thank you! :D

i not got a punto haynes as i only got a gt and its not covered in the haynes..

they way they work is either the earth or live feed to fuel pump goes through the inertia switch so once it trips the pump has no power, can never remember which but think its the earth. With a wiring diagram you could work it out pretty easily and test with a multimeter.
