Technical Fuel Cut Defender for turbo cinq

right latest update is that ive had a scary day on monday, i no now that the fcd is faulty but ive needed the car so ive had to use it, and the fueling has always been good when on boost anyway but on the way home from work monday afternoon the car started running in the optimal on the gauge (very close to weak infact) when on boost :bang:
it wouldnt go anywhere near rich what so ever so for that trip home i was the slowest cinq for miles!! i drove it like a snail so the turbo didnt come on boost, i pulled up on the drive shaking as i saw smoke coming from the exhaust and breather filter!!
i thought the piston had melted :(:cry:so i turned it off and went inside depressed and fed up, let the car cool down and then started it back up,,,,,,,no smoke no bad running, nothing! so i took it on a good run under differnt driving conditions and the engine ran fine with no noises, smoke etc.

compression tested it and the compression was great
then on the way home yesterday the fueling decided to come back to normal with it going into rich when the turbo came in,,,,adding to my confusion.

thinking sensable without hesitation i got home and straight away fitted the 3 bar fuel pump ive been putting of fitting, ordered a brand new turbo smart FCD (121quid) and booked the car in a noble motorsport (chesterfield) this friday for a rolling road session and setup

very exspensive car this is!

after fitting the 3 bar pump (unregulated until the rr day) the fueling is ok on boost, doesnt seem to have made it run that much richer at all in fact! but all will tell on the RR anyway so ill keep you all posted on how the old girl gets on after friday ;) fingers crossed.

(no exsplanation for the smoke though!!?? fuel mixture!?)

ow and kristian, martin tells me you have a link to a usa website for a wide band lambda sensor and controll unit?? thinks its time i got one,,,,and just as importantly a knock sence kit aswel!

cheers (y)

You know that changing the fuel pump will give no more fuel pressure, it may give more L's per hour, but it will still run at 0.8-1.2 bar as per Fiat, the pump does not change the pressure, the regulator does.

You need a separate regulator fitted like this diagram shows, do not just fit it inline as the fuel will always take easiest route, ie through normal regulator.
