The 1.2 is capable enough and is surprisingly good at motorway speeds. The twin cylinder models are undoubtedly quicker accelerating engines but I found noisy and not for me when I test drove both cars. Economy is probably lower being normally aspirated, but still returns over 50 with sensible driving and over the lifetime of the car (albeit only 2100 miles to date) trip B which has never been reset as I use trip A in between fill ups, shows the car has averaged 48.9mpg.

Economy is probably lower being normally aspirated,

I'd say it's more likely the other way round. If I were attempting a maximum economy run, I'd choose a 1.2 over a TA every time.

There's a lot of smoke & mirrors behind the official figures.

Recently, our fuel light came on as we left home, and then went out again when cruising along at the top on the level(ish). The range readout said we had 120miles and the light didn't come on again during our trip.
Happened again yesterday.

Loud beep and the message "Low fuel level" came on the dash. I pressed the stalk button and Range was just a series of dashes.

At the top of the hill, and driving along on our way to Tesco for petrol, the range went up to 116miles. We drove the five miles to Tesco, and slowly but surely, the range increased. No doubt if we'd carried on further, we'd have had even more range.

Fill up was 27.11 Litres - 5.96 Imp Gallons.
That means we still had 7.89 Litres - 1.73 Imp Gallons in the tank.

Best wishes,
Mick.

For the original poster re phone compatibility query. The full list of phone compatibilities is available on the Fiat Blue & Me website.
From my own experience older Nokias using the Sybian OS such as the N808, and more recently some phones using Android Marshmallow such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are fully compatible with the system, ie the nice Fiat Lady will offer to read your texts, and you have hands free calling.
Apple iPhones are only partially compatible, ie you get hands free calls but no text reading, hope this helps.
