I have just been to the local car accessories shop & was quoted £19 for a fuel filter & £11 for an air filter for the 1.9 naturally aspirated diesel. Is that excessive?

Fiats diesel fuel filters seem to be quite expensive.

I think the last fuel filter I bought was £9 for a Maestro diesel with the screw on canister.
About the same prices in Halfords

I've just replaced the fuel filter. Are the clips holding the pipes throw away? I replaced them with Jubilee clips.
Well if you've replaced them with Jubilee Clips, and it's probably a better fit then I don't see why you couldn't throw away the old ones, although it may be worth chucking them in your little tool kit with the jack etc just in case you ever do

I fitted the air filter this afternoon, it took two hours because two of the three bolts were in awkward places. It's not like the Maestro I had that was nice & simple.
