Sorry to nag tom but need a little advice on a car as every one who we've asked has given us a different answer and still not sorted it.

ok..Sister in law has a P reg 1.1 Rover Metro 100 45k miles, When idleing wether it be hot or cold the speed drops down almost to cutting out then it will pick up again.

Does this for 5 mins then i t will stop and idle properly then couple of mins it's back to normal, recently had service so everything changed inc. dist, rotor arm and Leads.

Any suggestions on what to try?

Not a clue without seeing it. I know some rovers had a problem where they would hunt when idling, a bit like you describe.

Does it really struggle to run when the revs drop?

It doesn't really struggle to run but if the revs dropped any lower it would stall, they pick up again just before that though

When did it start doing it? Sounds like one of those things you will never solve.

I'd say its going to be one of those rover things. I've found they never quite work the way you expect.
