FTAO DAZ re moving heater matrix

Hey mate, i'm desperately seeking another din in my car and wondered just how difficult it was for you to remove you heater matrix,
I know you had the center console lazer cut but apart from that what work was involved?

any info much appreciated mate cheers

Very easy

Apart from the blower direction control all of the connections are just wires, which reach where i have them quite easily...

I know you had the center console lazer cut but apart from that what work was involved?

The guy (in work) that cut it for me, said the plastic was so soft that i could have used a hacksaw and got just as good a job.

Just something to note, if you are going to put something DIN sized in there you will need to cut some of the dash away...

Also the DIN will not go all the way back, it sticks out about 1-2"...

I will be able to get some pics on the weekend to explain more...

You may be better of trying to source a doblo head unit surround to have a double din on top of the dash (to get a similar style as Paul R's)

Nice one Sy, keep us upto with the progress...

A bit late i know, but i thought i would post it anyway in case anyone else needed the info...

I had to cut the plastic away around the switches, i could have cut a oblong shape, but i cut away the lot (the half moon shaped plastic area in the centre of the pic)
