Hello all

I have a problem with the front wipers on my brava which I understand could be the relay or motor. First off, I need to find out how to check if there is a permanent live feed to the motor. I have tried to search the forum for a guide as to how to replace the motor but the search option is not working at the moment.

Can anybody point me in the right direction please?

Many thanks

Andrew

Take off the wipers, then the 2 plastic parts under the windscreen. After that you get a clean access to the wiper motor and linkage.
I will do a guide in the next few days, but unfortunately with low res pics.

The relay and the contacts that determine the position of the wipers are all together, but can be removed easily from the motor. They are held on by clips.

Front wiper issues

Hi,

apologies, however my wife is having similar issues in her 2000 Bravo with wipers playing up.

(1) Push stalk up and wipers work (as long as continually pushed), (2) intermittent and slow setting - either very slow movement over screen or nothing, (3) yet on fast setting - no problems at all. (Washer also works ok)

Assume common fuse, so that should be ok, however any advice regards relay, how to replace motor (if needed) or indeed how to check contacts (if accessible) on stalk would be most appreciated. A checklist of where to examine would also be useful as from reading forum - a common problem it seems....

PS: great site & hive of info. Should hopefully manage to maintain car running for another couple of years as helped already.

Scott if the wipers work in all positions of the stalk - no matter slow or fast, the stalk is OK.
By the sound the linkage from the motor to the wipers needs lubricating + you need to take out the pistons on witch the wiper arms screw on to. The rubber ring on the top tends to get hard and water comes in and seizes the piston.

I will take a look and see what happens.
