The passenger side jets are blocked on my brava. Anyone know a quick easy way to clean them out?

if you don't want to take them off, which is fairly easy, snip off a strand from a washing up brush which should fit into each nozzle on the washers. poke it around and see what happens!

Nice one Doost, i'll give that a try before dismantling.

Well, i tried Doost's suggestion, no joy. Then i tried taking the whole module out and trying to clean it that way, no joy.
How do i get the buggers clean or will i have to buy new ones?

Thanks Tom, still rather clean the buggers though as i live in a rural part of wales and the crap thrown up at the windscreen makes it impossible to drive for 2 miles without getting out to clean the windscreen and the nearest dealer (the git who sold it to us without telling us the sunroof was knackered) is about 18 miles away.
Would soaking them in hot water and baking soda do the trick?

if you run them under a tap does water come through? try blowing through them. If you try the jet without the nozzle on does water come of the pipe?

I've removed and cleaned them several times now and i just seem to be moving the crud around as each time there are different nozzles blocked.
Maybe if a i boil the buggers or something...................?

You really need high pressure air to clean them, but the holes are so small that you will never get them 100%.

yeah, soak in super hot water for 10 mins with detergent. the pipe my be crudded up as well. pipe cleaner? does anyone smoke pipes anymore?

Sorry doost, wasn't paying attention. Water does well up through when i put it under the tap, i've blown through it but still crappy to non-existent performance.

Use a bloody pin and poke the holes out, works all the damn time. Do it several times, squirt the water jets, and repeat till properly working.

Well thanks for that anonymous, i take it you have zero experience with brava washer jets otherwise you'd know a pin doesn't fit.
And if you're going to get arsy with me at least have the guts to put your name up there you aggresive tosser!

HAPPY!? Name is up. Ok if a pin doesn't fit them i'm sure your car doesn't have the standard washer jets.

Goto a tailor shop or ASDA (Supermarket), look for there sewing kits and buy there pins/needles. (NOT DRAWING PINS)

It fits all four holes in each of my washer jets. If you really want i can go and take pictures.

Washer jets

I know it's already been said, but don't assume the washer jets are the fault. Confirm this my removing the feed pipe from the bonnet mounted jet, get a beautiful assistant to operate the washers, and see if water comes out the end of the now disconnected tube.

I had a similar problem recently and it turned out to be a leaking Y connector, that divides the pipe into 2 to go to each individual jet. Was obvious once I had my beautiful assistand helping; water was jetting into the engine bay!

Got it cleared finally. I used my head and gave my dad a call, he said to use 15amp fuse wire, it fitted like a dream and all nozzles are now squirting merrily.
As for Joske, your manner and attitude are a symptom of what's becoming more and more prevalent on this forum. People coming on for honest advice and getting flamed, whether subtly or not.
I'm hoping this "American" trend on this forum doesn't continue and Wimmy is able to do something about it but i'm not holding my breath.
As for you Joske, if you feel you're so superior to me and probably everyone else on this forum, why don't you find yourself a new hangout...... www.onlinenazis.com might be a good start ; )

if you're first poke doesn't succeed, try poking with something stiffer.
there's a lesson for us all there...!

Oh dear Mike, 5 mins on this forum and your so touchy. Afterall i did have the solution to your question. Your dads idea and mine ain't a million miles apart.

Take a chill pill bud in future.
