hey people!!

i wanna get some new front speakers for my bravo cos lets face it, the standard ones arent up to much. the problem is ive got a low budget and am fairly new to the whole ICE install thing!

ive seen speaker adapters on the net....wot speakers would fit into these without having to modify the door panel! looking to spend no more than £50.

also is any modification to the wiring necessary?

You can get a set of JBL components for £50. You would have to change the wiring a little and mount the crossovers somewhere but the sound difference will be well worth it:)

Re: Re: Front Speakers

do u know of any good websites where i could get the JBL components??

as i said i havent done any ICE mods b4 so could u explain wot u mean by crossovers?? and how complex would the re-wiring be??

cheers

Re: Re: Re: Front Speakers

The JBL comps are found very cheaply at any motorworld store.

Speaker wires from head unit go to crossover, then speakers are both attached to crossover. The crossover box splits the frequencies and sends the high frequencies to the small tweeter and the lower frequencies to the 13cm mid woofer for a better sound quality.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Front Speakers

Yeah, If u aint using an amp, you would disconnect the front speakers and replace with the components

Re: Re: Re: Re: Front Speakers

so would this essentially mean the standard tweeters were inactive once i had installed the JBL components?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Front Speakers

I assume the JBL tweeter will go in the place of the original dash tweeter?

Mine are in the stock location, easy to do.
Remove you rold tweeter, either cut the tweeter surround out and file so your new tweet fit, Push some of your new wire through the hole stick your arm up from behind the dash find the wire and pull ! Done !

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Front Speakers

are there any other speakers people would recommend apart from the JBL components?? preferably jst a single speaker to replace the standard ones in the doors without any kind of adjustment to the panel! and would you have to use an adapter??

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Front Speakers

when you replaced the door speakers did they just go straight in place of the standard ones or did you use an adapter??

cheers

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Front Speakers

Youi could just buy some 5X7 coaxails they should directly replace the standard items whilst keeping the standard tweeters working even though they are pap.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Front Speakers

most 5 x 7 " speakers dont fit the bravo, and they are more expensive too. Get some 13cm components and an adapter from www.autoaudioaccessories.co.uk
