Front Shocks

are the Fiat coupe 20v front shocks compatible with my fiat bravo SX model? or have to get HGT version front shocks,......im asking because im fitting 20vturbo into my bravo and standard shocks does not fit with Coupe wheel hub and im crying

physically the coupe struts will fit, top mounts match and as long as you have coupe hubs and wishbones

but dont forget the spring rate of the coupe is also higher to cope with the heavier engine.

im not sure the HGT struts will have the correct hole spacings for the coupe hubs anyway!? ive never compared.

The current situation is that i got all coupe hubs and swinging arms in place but the Bravo Sx Shocks does not fit in hub as the orignal hubs are narrower so my question is whether to put HGT shocks or Coupe shocks since i am using the 20v Hubs.. so as you said it i have to get 20v shocks..am i right?

why are you using 20v hubs for a 20vt conversion?

surely you will need the benifit of the brembos once the engine is in, but this would obviously require using the 20vt hubs and the 20vt struts to match (would also answer your question ).

if you are using 20v parts, i dont think there is any difference between coupe and bravo 20v items, but i would use HGT hubs and struts just incase as it is a bravo at the end of the day.

Good point Rich,

but the problem is that my model is not HGT but SX in which everything is totally different.
The engine is in and wiring is ready and engine started 'thats a wow noise'

But when i arrived in the process to assemble the suspension etc i met so many problems then, since i got a 20v turbo engine including drive shafts/hubs/brembo discs/calipers /wishbones etc i am putting everything from the 'donor' coupe..but my current 'SX' shocks does not fit and i do not have the coupe front shocks.

Now since i have to get the shocks from UK (as locally we do not have ) i must make sure that these fits to my bravo wheelbox and coupe hubs.. (i think but i m not sure that the standard HGT hubs are different from the coupes ..am i right??) so even if i have to get new parts from ebay im always asking for 20v turbo model in which is limiting my choice...thus do you think that HGT wishbones and HUBS and shocks fits the coupe 20v turbo model....and the 16v and 20v coupe models use the same shock absorbers?

i didnt realise you were outside the UK.

i cannot guarentee the HGT or coupe 20v struts will fit the 20vt hubs as ive never tried. Although if they did i'm sure the brembo upgrade for the HGT would be much more common.

I can however confirm the the 20vt struts will fit the the bravo mounting points.

My recommendation would be to use the 20vt wishbones, hubs and struts as firstly they will fit ans secondly they are suited by manufacture and development.

Have you thought about the steering rack? as the coupe wishbones are margianlly wider than the SX ones.

i'm sure i have a set of standard 20vt struts somewhere, i'm sure we could work out a good deal
