Hi everyone. My first post!

I know little about cars but am the proud owner of a 19 y old tipo 1.9td owned from new with 39k on the clock. I was told at last weeks MOT test that the front brake discs were wearing and would soon need replacing. My question is, how do i find out whether my 1.9td has ABS or not - i gather some do? What type of brake disc replacements/sizes would you recommend for ABS/non ABS? Sorry to ask such a naive question!
Many thanks

easy way to find out is to go along something slippy, be it mud/sand/wet road. and hit the brakes as hard as possible. if it just slides then no ABS. i'm sure someone will be along later to give you a better explanation lol.

Very unlikely it will have ABS - it was a very costly extra when the Tipo was sold.

Look in the engine bay, at the back behind the battery and if there is a big square metal block with brake pipes sticking out of it - that's the ABS controller. If not then it won't have ABS.

Front discs are 157mm non-ventilated as standard, a motor factors should be able to sort it for you. Be sure to replace the pads and clean down the sliders too to make sure they wear correctly.
