General Front brake pads

Hi,

How much is a set of front brake pads for a 2002 ELX Punto Speedgear. Does anybody know how much a dealer charges to fit them.

It has done 10k miles and they look quite worn, probably only another 2k before they need replacing.

don't go to dealer go to normal garage max 1 hour labour charge. don't get fiat pads they wearout quick get copys

Thanks, what is a good alternative to the Fiat ones. I had the wheels off as the tyres were both scrubbed off on the inside which must be the tracking (they are the originals and have only done 10K which is a pain). I have just dropped it off for a couple of new tyres and a tracking check. It looks pretty simple to replace the pads myself. As I haven't done it for a while do you still put copper grease on the back of the pads.

I didn't check but I don't think they have wear sensors on.

The new tyres were pretty good though, Bridgestone at £29+VAT inc fitting for 165/70 14.

I never take any notice of the make just ring around motor factors and get the cheepest, they all last longer than fiat ones. still use copper grease also if you have the bolt together caliper you need thread lock for the bolt.

I put EBC Green pads on my 1994 55SX - made a massive improvement to braking, well worth the £50 cost as they also outlast normal pads. Should be available for all models of Punto.

£50 [:0]They would have to last a life time for me to spend that much. last pads i bought for my punto were £7.51.

£7.50 seems cheap for brake pads, where were they made !!!.

Won Keys Fiat emporium and asbestos disposal centre. [)]

£75.93 for my front pads, £213.35 for red dot discs. Mind the standard discs cost £270.79.



85% of Marea HLX drivers have speeding tickets.... lol they'll have to catch me first.

Dont know where they were made think they were called EBAC or something like that, my son will remember but hes out i'll ask him when he gets home.
I have the larger disks which were £12 each. If I had had the smaller disks £10 each the pads were more money £12 and a bit.
